Granbury HVAC Company: Air conditioning, To be a luxury or not to be a luxury?
In the metroplex, most of us think of air conditioning as a necessity due to the heat waves we experience. However, not everyone feels this way. There are those few people who believe they can just open windows and allow the breeze to take care of them. This can be very detrimental to your health.
When temperatures soar through the 90’s or 100’s, your body start to work very hard at keeping its self cool, this causes you to sweat. Not that sweating is a bad thing, but when you sweat a lot and don’t drink enough water you become dehydrated. Also, when your body has to work harder to stay in its “comfort zone” you burn more calories than normal. Now, that may not sound like a bad thing to most of us, however, when your body has to work so hard, simply sitting still can create the feeling of building a house in a day. Who can get anything done when you are simply exhausted? I know I certainly can’t.
Same goes for your heating. During the winter, if your heating element is not working well, your body has to over work in order to keep your internals warm. This causes you to shiver which also causes you to burn more calories and use more energy than necessary.
In the end, keeping your HVAC system working is a small price to pay to keep your health up to par.
